Flexible skill paths for digitization

The project has trained 38 digitalisation professionals and 36 digisation developers to meet the current and future needs of working life in companies, municipalities, the well-being services of counties, public administration and in the GLAM (galleries, libraries, archives, and museums) sector. Project created a new Digitisation expert network.

ETKOT - South-Savo Artificial Intelligence at Memory Lab

The project will create new AI expertise in the South Savo region, promote the responsible utilisation of AI in companies, develop methods especially related to AI technologies, and accelerate business by supporting the renewal of the service and business structure.

South Savo Data Economy Accelerator: Shared Data as a Joint Success Factor (DAME)

The project compiles a situational analysis of the data economy in South Savo based on survey and research and implements practical trials in various sectors. Additionally, the project plans support services for the data economy for businesses and organizations in South Savo and builds a data economy value network in collaboration with regional actors.

Digitaalisen innovaatiokeskuksen (DIH) perustaminen Etelä-Savoon

The Digital Innovation Centre will accelerate the digital transformation of industry, especially small and medium-sized enterprises and the public sector. DIH is a multi-stakeholder network providing a one-stop shop for a wide range of services to support digitalisation.

Päämaja – Mikkelin matkailun kehittämishanke

Mikkeli Development Miksei and Muisti Centre of War and Peace
The aim is to create new vitality, new year-round jobs and investment in the area by creating new and sustainable tourism businesses based on Mikkeli's own strengths - its history and cultural heritage. The project will highlight Mikkeli's tourist attractions, promote the cultural and historical tourism skills of local operators through knowledge management.

SAG Saimaa ja Saimaa Academy of Gastronomy – Network development and learning

The aim is to make food tourism the main attraction of tourism in the Saimaa region in a sustainable way. This objective will be achieved by developing the D.O.Saimaa network and linking it to tourism, as well as through knowledge creation and research through SAG's network learning. The growth and attractiveness of the entire food tourism sector will strengthen the vitality of South Savo and promote employment.

Resilient Youth Through Local Heritage (ROOT)

The multidisciplinary Root project combines cultural heritage, history and local perspectives. The project aims to address challenges such as the green transition, sustainable development and climate change, and to create hope for young people in remote areas. The desire to help young people in their careers is also key.

Kuvitellut kotimaat

The aim of the project is to explore what digital humanities methods can tell us about the construction of the Finnish press in North America and its relationship to the past and present homeland. The research will be carried out by a multidisciplinary team, which will use text genre and text insert identification and name recognition methods to enable remote and close reading of a wide range of material.

Digital History of Literature in Finland (DHL)

The project aims to significantly expand the existing understanding of Finnish literary history through new digital materials and methods. The project will map the background data of Finnish and Swedish-language fiction from the 19th century into a coherent format that will enable large-scale statistical analysis of the data.

IIIF (International Image Interoperability Framework) is a solution designed for the cultural heritage sector, providing libraries, archives and museums with the tools to make their collections digitally accessible in a rich and functionally rich way.

The Mass Digitisation Service receives and digitises paper documents archived by government authorities for storage and use in digital format only. After digitisation, the paper form of the documents is destroyed.

Memory Campus – Towards an international cluster in information management

The aim of the project was to develop the Memory Campus ecosystem into a European cluster. The aim of the project was to promote the international activities, cooperation and networks of the Memory Campus and its actors as part of the cluster work.

Potential of Artificial Intelligence for Digital Archives’ Users

The aim of the project was to promote the use of artificial intelligence in the provision of data for further use. The project developed automated content analysis of digital assets, enhancing their description and creating valuable search and aggregation capabilities for the end user.

Memory Lab as a driver of digital experimentation and innovation culture in South Savo

The project helped actors in South Savo to identify common challenges and specificities of different sectors, build a cooperation network and co-develop services through digitalisation and innovation.

Memory Lab – equipment investments

The project designed, procured and deployed a Memory Lab hardware environment that enables petabyte-scale AI computing performance in a secure and efficient environment. The Memory Lab hardware is intended to enable any development activity related to artificial intelligence, data analytics or digitisation or post-processing and its scale-up to a commercial service.

DALAI - Improving the quality and usability of digital assets through AI

The aim of the DALA was to use AI to develop the automation of the digitisation and automatic description of cultural heritage materials.

Oneclick eArchiving

The OneClick eArchiving project facilitated the take-up of the results of E-ARK projects. The international E-ARK projects have produced specifications and implemented policies and tools at the level of national archives. OneClick eArchiving aims to extend its use to other archives and collection managers, including SMEs.

Memorial – Developing the Digital Reception and Usability of Materials and Web Platform in Memory Campus

The Memorial is an online service that brings together, shares and stores electronic material in a digital archive. Memorial will be developed as an accessible, easy-to-use and functional service for everyone to store their memories.
